「ロックマンX7」Rockman X7 Walkthrough (JP, ENG SUB) — Part 2, Deep Forest - Soldier Stonekong

Why did the release of this episode take this long? I wanted to give each and every episode of this walkthrough a unique artwork for the descriptions. The only thing I didn’t understand was that I might stretch this project for a year when I’ve finished the entirety of this translation today. Also I was angry at myself for not getting Axl look right on the second disclaimer art. So yeah, “evolution requires sacrifise“. About emulation, I think I can emulate X7 without any fear because I own Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2 that does not want to run the games I needed well. Although I know this will not work when I’ll eventually need to record Command Mission. Blame CAPCOM for not re-releasing this game, Irregular Hunter X and GameBoy titles that are important. Only voiced dialogues will be translated. Not Alia’s navigation, nor Dr. Right’s Capsules’ messages. Timestamps for those who’s here only for the story bits: Irregular Dialogues: 7:43 Scene after the first stage: 12:32 After deciding who should be the first Irregular to be punished (which was a little kangaroo baby for me), the rest of the game will become pretty much linear. That does not mean it will be on the easier side though. But for the next 3 stages - it’s a cakewalk. Like really, if you start from Gungaroon and manage to survive one hell of a fight, difficulty spikes will not appear and the game starts to get more difficult and tricky (sometimes because of bad game-design and sometimes for a normal reasons actually) after stage 4, which gives you time to learn how to... get good, yup. This stage is 85% your usual X-series experience. It’s entirely in 2D (although I would say it’s because of perspective changes), but you’ll need Axl here if you need to save every Repliroid. And there’s one stupid place that sometimes does not respawn one Ruinsman you need in order to get back and not die from spikes. This stage also has Leg Parts of X’s new Armor, but I’ll show where it exactly is when I’ll unlock him, and at the very beginning, there’s a 1-Up that you can’t see because of a tree on a foreground. Other than that - I don’t have anything to note. Just before the boss himself, we have a fight with a bunch of Apestones spitting rocks at you. If you have used Attack1 upgrade on Axl (that makes his shots more powerful), you just can stay still and mash shoot button until every Apestone here turns lighter shape of gray and explode. You might not have luck in doing so, however it’s not difficult. And then we meet our next target - Soldier Stonekong. I actually really like him. He acts like a knight which hides the fact that he’s infected with a virus. It was really fun to translate his speech. His weakness in Gungaroon’s weapon - Explosion for X and Axl, and Hadangeki for Zero. He’s really easy. And even now I can revisit him without having his weakness and still defeat him without recieving damage. The only problem here is that you need to immidentely jump-dash away to the left or else Stonekong will dash right into you. In this fight, I wanted to use Zero at least a little bit, since I’m not a fan of close combat and he’ll get a long-range combat technique\weapon that is actually useful only after 7th stage for me. I tried, but arena here doesn’t allow for the use normal use of Hadangeki. But actually, it’s a pretty decent technique, you just need to learn how to line it up correctly. So we defeat Stonekong and obtain his weapon - Gaea Shield for X and Axl, and Gokumonken for Zero. Both are pretty useless in 3D (which is, like, 65% of the game) and really situational. Since it was my 2nd stage, we have a cut-scene in an elevator where Axl tells Zero that everything started to change at one point and that they weren’t like that before. Next up’s Tornado Debonion. That will be a fun one.
