Haiti’s capital ‘falls to warlord Barbecue’s armed gangs’ as kingpin threatens ’bloody revolution’

HAITI’s capital has all but fallen to armed gangs led by a vicious kingpin as rotting bodies litter the most dangerous city on earth. With multiple embassies’ staff being evacuated and the US marines now deployed, the once-picturesque Port-au-Prince has turned into a bloody warzone following days of gang-led violence. As the Caribbean nation reels under a state of emergency, the US military said on Sunday it carried out an operation to airlift non-essential embassy personnel from the country and added US forces to bolster embassy security. Members of several diplomatic missions, including staff from the United States and the German ambassador, began leaving Port-au-Prince on Sunday.
