発祥は江戸時代で、明治41年には独自の「解し捺染」技法で特許を取得して隆盛を迎えました。 緯糸に補色を用いることで生じる玉虫光沢や、植物柄が多いのが特徴の絹織物です。 Chichibu-meisen silk was developed in the Edo Period, and in 1908 when a patent was granted for the unraveling print technique, Meisen silk enjoyed a boom in popularity. Use of complimentary colors in the weft meant that Meisen silk is woven to be iridescent. Depictions of plants and flowers were popular designs on Meisen silk goods. ★詳細
