Hurdle Training - From 5 step drilling to sprinting over 6
October 26, 2011 - As usual when I’m working out, it is my playground to challenging myself to do the things that come to mind. Today’s workout: 60 hurdle total: 4 x 6 5-step drilling, then 6 x 6 sprinting and working on 3-step rhythm. The challenge, hurdles raised by 2s from 36 inches to 39 inches to race height of 42 inches. Hurdles pushed in from normal mark 3 feet from hurdles 1-2-3-4, push in from normal mark 2 feet from hurdles 4-5-6. An attempt to force a quick rhythm and react to, through and over the hurdle maintaining momentum. It was sloppy the first 2 of 6 when sprinting but it felt better towards the end. Count it a good day for this 44 year old hurdler for life. Loving it!
