Brackish cichlid tank

A VERY overdue update video on my brackish tank. A lot has changed in the last year or so, probably most obviously is the growth of the green chromides, now ranging from about 4 to 8.5 inches. I’ve added more plastic plants and made some changes to the lighting and filtration. My group of wild type Campeche mollies unfortunately all started to die out for reasons I’m unsure of and within about 2 months after my last video on this tank they had all died. 2 of my orange chromides have also died over the last year, however I believe this is simply down to old age as this group are approaching the end of their average life span and are showing some obvious signs of old age. I’ve also moved my Ceylon puffer (it was becoming very difficult to feed him without the chromides stealing it first) and added a group of “east coast gold cichlids“ (Ptychochromis grandidieri), a madagascan cichlid that occurs in both fresh and brackish water in the wild and seems equally at home in both, the tank is currently kept at a specific gravity between and and everything seems to be thriving. I was very fortunate to be able to track these down as they’re very uncommon in the trade and they were high up on my list, I will eventually be rehoming 4 of them once I’ve got a strong mated pair as they can reach 8 - 10 inches in length and are rather territorial. While it was never the plan, this has ended up as a cichlid only brackish tank and I rather like this setup. Current stock: 6 East Coast gold cichlids (Ptychochromis grandidieri) 6 Green chromides (Etroplus Suratensis) 6 Orange chromides (Pseudetroplus maculatus)
