Mayon Volcano Update; Alert Level Raised, Rockfalls Increase

On June 5th of 2023, the alert level of the Mayon stratovolcano in the Philippines was raised from 1 to 2. This change was made in response to an increasing number of rockfalls on or near its summit alongside new ground deformation. Thus, people were asked to stay outside of the 6 kilometer exclusion zone surrounding Mayon’s summit in all directions. This video will discuss and analyze the ongoing situation.
