“Nymph Errant“ opened on October 6, 1933 at the Adelphi Theatre in London. Written as a vehicle for Gertrude Lawrence, it has the distinction of being Cole Porter’s favorite out of his scores. The controversial plot involved a young lady traversing the world intent upon losing her virginity, taking her from Switzerland to France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, the Arabian Desert and back home to England.
