Ulcerous Phlegm were a German deathgrind band, formed in 1989. They released 1 demo and 2 EPs before they split up. In the meantime, some random labels got their music and reissued everything in 2 compilation albums and 1 live. Before anything else, the other video for this demo that is up on youtube has a terrible quality, its truly shit and it doesn’t make the music any justice. So I did what I had to do and went after a good rendition of the music - and here it finally is. This self-titled is the best last release any band could have. Really gritty and cavernous, filled with riffs and gore and what could be sumed up as “peak deathgrind“. There is a shit ton of death/doom influence, turning a simple and straight foward EP into a crushing, bone melting experience. Not a single dead moment in the whole EP, only regurgitated bowels and blundgeoning sadistic deathgrind.
