Hi! Today there is a very rare restoration of the Khevsuri dashna. Khevsurian dashna is a universal thing that combines the properties of a knife, dagger and broadsword. The sizes were different. Practically, dashnas were made from broken saber and broadsword blades. Today, this item is rare. Well, I’ll try to restore this item. So, the handle. To disassemble it, I used a file, ground the rivet on the back of the handle. The handle is made of deer, buffalo and brass horns, which is typical for that region and time. I carefully and slowly removed every detail from the tang of the blade. I cleaned the rust of the guard and blade with a sandblaster, after which I found the stamp “gourda“ - this means that this object was most likely made of a broadsword, judging by the geometry of the blade.
