In this unreal engine 5.3 tutorial we’re using Niagara Fluids to create a volumetric, real-time simulation of a magical smoke portal. I go over creating particles, placing them on a torus shape, spinning them with a vortex force, and then using them as a source for smoke. We also add some wind and tweak the overall niagara simulation settings to get a quickly dissipating smoke. Some nice blue lighting and a few rocks from Quixel bridge complete the effect.
