Grapevine Grassroots: BSÍ Live From Reykjavík 2022

The Reykjavík Grapevine is collaborating with the Live From Reykjavík festival to bring you four exclusive interviews and live tracks from up-and-coming Icelandic acts. BSÍ — which may refer to the name of the infamous bus terminal in Reykjavík, or stand for Brussel Sprouts International — are Silla Thorarensen (drums and vocals) and Julius Rothlaender (bass and synths). Having released their debut album, ‘Sometimes Depressed… But Always Antifascist’ in May, the duo went on a UK tour with The Vaccines followed by their own tour of Germany. After their sound check at Live From Reykjavík they met up with Grapevine editor-in-chief Valur Grettisson to chat about their crazy year, and to discuss – what’s in a name? They then performed their track “Vesturbæjar Beach“. Live track footage provided by Rúv. Read more about BSÍ here: You can purchase ’Sometimes Depressed… But Always Antifascist’
