The Reykjavík Grapevine is collaborating with the Live From Reykjavík festival to bring you four exclusive interviews and live tracks from up-and-coming Icelandic acts. In this episode we are delighted to introduce you to singer, musician – and now, internet sensation – Laufey Lin. Laufey began playing the piano at the age of four and is now a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Her debut album ’Typical of Me’ was born in the midst of the pandemic, and Laufey found her audience through sharing music on online platforms like Youtube and TikTok. Her ever-growing follower base includes celebrity fans such as Willow Smith and Billie Eilish. After her Live From Reykjavík sound check, Laufey met up with Reykjavík Grapevine journalist Josie Anne Gaitens to discuss her new album, and returning to perform in Iceland for the first time.
