Muir Mathieson (1911-1973) From the Grampions Suite - In Glengarry, a Highland Stream

In continuing to upload the full suite, we turn to the 3rd movement “In Glengarry - a Highland Stream“ This could be described as a miniature tone poem with its contrasting moods, where one can easily imagine the fluctuating changes as the water meanders its way through the Scottish landscape. The images are all taken from Glengarry, and one can see why the composer chose to set it to music. The Royal Ballet Sinfonia is conducted by John Wilson.
