Vapour cloud explosion involving a plug-in hybrid EV

The Mountain View Fire & Rescue Department were called to smoke alarms in a private home on 11th April 2023. Upon making entry, they found a plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4XE electric vehicle smoking in the closed garage, & started applying water. At this point a vapour cloud explosion occurred, with three firefighters inside the garage & one externally near the door. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. In this EV FireSafe Deep Dive video, we look this vapour cloud explosion, plus a second incident involving the same make & model EV that occurred a month later, also in the USA.
