Homo Neanderthals vs. Homo Sapiens

Neanderthals had much stronger and thicker bones than homosapiens. These thicker bones include thicker metacarpals and generally a more robust disposition which was suited to their harsh lifestyle. They also had an asymmetrical humerus bone as opposed to homosapiens who have a symmetrical humerus. When modern humans arrived in Europe about 40,000 years ago, they encountered a different Homo species that had evolved from previous migrations waves of archaic humans (non-Homo sapiens) out of Africa. These were Homo neanderthalensis, or Neanderthals, who had lived in Eurasia — long before Homo sapiens first left Africa.
