OK - there’s a bit of Genesis about their sound, but they’re sufficiently different (and far enough away in time) that the comparisons aren’t really appropriate. There’s Gentle Giant and PFM in here, and even a bit of Yes. The vocals don’t sound like Gabriel and he’s certainly not trying to - he just naturally sounds that way That said, the material on this album is remarkable. The songwriting is really strong (very melodic) and the musicianship is mostly excellent. The stand out tracks for me are “The Spell Of Eternity“, “Tricks & Treason“ and “Lovernius’ Song“. The last is a sublime instrumental that should get late night radio play. Review by Albert H
