Loon Egg PIP - First Sighting

Here is a quick view of the loon egg pip from LPC’s 2023 LoonCam 2, egg 1. A PIP is the first break through the egg by the loon chick. Hatch will likely occur 8-12 hours after the PIP is first seen. It can be another 6-8 hours after that before the chick emerges from under the adult loon. The view in this video is quick, comes just a few seconds into the video and is marked by an arrow. There is general agreement among the viewers of the live feed that it is the real thing, but in the past, we’ve been fooled before. The live feed will continue through the hatch and until the loons leave their nest for the brooding ground. Feed location is:
