CEAIT & Troika Ranch with Dawn Stoppiello

In this conversation devoted to the history of @calartsofficial Art Tech nexus, otherwise CEAIT, the legendary media/dance performer Dawn Stoppiello shares how the Troika Ranch (w/ Mark Coniglio, inventor of MidiDancer and many other exciting things. . ) was impacted by activities the CEAIT members initiated. Tracing the timeline of the Troika’s emergence and further development over the 1990s, three main pieces of associated with the Center are identified: • Tactile Diaries (1990) • An Adjacent Disclosure (1991) • Composite Image Space MIDI-Dance (1993) All three were hosted by Electronic Café International (ECI) in Santa Monica and connected locations. A fourth piece, that came out of the work of Mark Coniglio with Morton Subotnick within the CEAIT frame, was: • The Electronic Disturbance (1996) Unlike the previous three, the work was created after the establishment of the Troika Ranch in 1994 and the duo (Coniglio and Stoppiello) moving to New York from Los Angeles. Among other themes, the work of @DavidRosenboom and Mark Coniglio on the sound installation – It Is About to Sound (1993), a collab with MOCA @MOCA for the Cage exhibition, has been covered.
