Renaissance Rackett Collection - Part 1

The first piece of my renaissance rackett collection. The rackett has always been one of my favourite renaissance instruments, and it’s a shame its use declined so vastly into the Baroque era and beyond. Lately though, the rackett has seen a slight renaissance. :) The first piece features Caro Ortolano, from Il primo libro de balli, 1578, by Giorgio Mainerio (1535-1582). Performed by the Early Music Consort of London. Conducted by David Munrow. Original recording from 1976, though this is a digitaly remastered version from 2007.
