DIY FLOPPY DRIVE CNC: Part 4 - Connect/Test the Interface
In this video, we tie together our printer port interface, our floppy drive and the parmon parallel port software to make our floppy drive stepper motor move back and forth. Pin 25 (Ground) from the printer port is connected to an Odd numbered pin on the floppy drive and pin 2 (Data 0) and 3 (Data 1) from the printer port is connected to pin 18 (Direction) and 20 (Step) on the floppy.. WAIT!. Problem!#$... The floppy drive doesn’t move far enough!! (No problem! :D) Next we will make a CD/DVD-Rom and floppy drive hybrid to increase our stroke length (or travel).
