IndyCar’s Final Game - IndyCar Series 2005 - A Casual Review

Rewind back to 2004 when Indycar received its last dedicated racing game. This is the second Indycar game made by Codemasters and despite the title, this game features all the cars and tracks of the 2003 IRL Season, the same set as in the original game. Overall not a bad package for its time, but due to the limited nature of the all-oval calendar and lack of updated 2005 or even 2004 content, reviewers were not kind. A career mode ala “Nascar Thunder“ could have added a fun element, but the mix of tweaking car setup and the “Masterclass“ mode, narrated by one Dan Wheldon add just enough to make IndyCar Series 2005 compelling, if only for a short while.
