He probably received his musical education in Silesia; later he was organist at the cathedral in Königgrätz (now Hradec Králové). From the early 1770s he was active in Pressburg, where his Singspiel Narcisse et Pierre is reported to have been performed in 1772 (as documented by the Pressburger Zeitung); in 1773 he composed works for the St Cecilia festivities there.
