Madleen Kane: Don’t Wanna Lose You [Expanded Album] (1981)

Complimenting the 1981 Pete Bellotte-production of Sue Ann yesterday, here’s Giorgio Moroder’s solo-production of Swedish sex kitten model Madleen Kane who had already enjoyed topped the US Billboard Disco Charts with Rough Diamond and Chéri. Don’t Wanna Lose You was her fourth album but her first with Moroder. While the first single You Can only peaked at #77 in the US charts, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Charts for two weeks in December 1981 together with Fire In My Heart, and Playing For Time followed a year later, reaching #10 in the US dance charts. Also in 1981, Moroder & Bellotte had completed what would have been Donna Summer’s 10th album, the 2LP I’m A Rainbow, which ended up being shelved by her record company. It remained in the archives until 1996 when it was finally issued by Mercury/PolyGram. 00:01 You Can 06:56 The Lonely One 10:39 Playing For Time 14:35 Treat Me Like A Lady 18:00 Don’t Wanna Lose You 22:33 Fire In My Hear
