Sundar Te Dhyan (Abhang) — LIVE at Diwali at the Chapel 2019

Every year, Princeton University’s Hindu Life Program host an incredible celebration of Diwali at the University’s historic chapel. This piece is a traditional song in the Marathi language by Sant Tukaram. He describes the beautiful vision of his Beloved Lord, slowly focusing on the different details of his graceful form, including his garland of fragrant tulasi leaves, his garment of brilliant yellow silk, his fish shaped earrings and the glistening Kaustubha gem decorating his chest. Tukaram says that he could gaze incessantly at the face of his Lord, such is the love and pure bliss he feels.
