Lukashenko vows instant, tough response if struck by Ukraine; reveals intercepted Ukraine missiles - YouTube
Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko revealed on July 2 that Ukraine had fired missiles towards Belarus around the end of June, and that all the projectiles had been intercepted by the Pantsir anti-aircraft systems.
He made this announcement in a national speech a day before the Independence Day of Belarus. Lukashenko then went on to warn Ukraine not to strike again, noting that he had ordered Belarusian forces to target ’decision making centres in your capital“ if and when.
He finally stressed that Belarus has more than sufficient capabilities as well as strong determination to protect itself and its people, and to respond ’instantly’ to any provocation or attack.
Towards the end of June, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that there had been multiple rocket strikes on Ukrainian positiosn from Belarus, and Ukrainian officials also stated that ’threat of missile and air strikes’ from Belarus remain.
