Inside the colossal carved out stone the stillness is utterly sublime. After walking along the chilled and chiseled cliffs, through the misty valley of Hoy, I crawl through the dwarf-like entrance of the hollowed, mossy green chamber. Drenched in folklore, myth and legend it is simply incredible the sheer size of this stone monolith and the feat of it’s carving with stone and antler. Inside it is cosy and dry and my voice bounces around the rock walls with an earthy resonance. I feel enveloped in the magik of the land. Embalmed in a timeless quietude.
