Benjamin Netanyahu ‘in a dilemma’ over Israel-Hamas war: Malcolm Davis

ASPI Senior Analyst in Defence Strategy Malcolm Davis says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing a tough “dilemma” over what steps to take next in resolving the Israel- Hamas war. “He’s in a dilemma in the sense that if he submits to that pressure and brings the war to a halt If Hamas are still intact… we will be facing further October 7 attacks in the future,“ Dr Davis told Sky News Australia. “So, I think Israel does have to achieve its goal which is to destroy Hamas. “But they also have to achieve it in a way that doesn’t create more opposition to Israel.” Dr Davis’ comments come as Israel faces growing opposition to their war tactics in Gaza, including US President Joe Biden who has taken issue with Israel’s “indiscriminate bombing.”
