The United States of America has issued another warning to Israel over its plan to invade Rafah. After Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that a date has been set for the Rafah offensive, the U.S. State Department has warned that a full-scale invasion of Rafah will have an enormously harmful effect on civilians and would ultimately harm Israel’s security. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the U.S. has made clear to Israel that there is a better way to achieve what is a “legitimate goal,” which is to degrade and dismantle and defeat the Hamas battalions that still remain in Rafah.
