Hojoundo, for tournament warmup in the first Futenma Dojo of Kanei Uechi, Uechi Ryu Karare Do, 1960.
Hojoundo are the warmup exercises developed by the Uechi Ryu karate system. The series of techniques consist of defense and counter attacks, taken from Kata. Filmed in 1960 in the first Futenma Dojo of Uechi Ryu Karate Grand Master Kanei Uechi, the contestants are warming up for the first Uechi Ryu Karate Tournament held in the First Soke Dojo.
Taken from Alan Dollarβs Okinawan Karate Historical Series. Volume 1 of 3, Episode 1.
