Humboldt Bay Levee Plug Full Project

Full installation process of a 16ft tall AquaDam being used to plug a hole in an ocean-facing levee. A 6ft tall dam was installed in the “freshwater“ field as an anchor point from which to “lower“ the 16ft dam into position in the hole. The 16ft dam had to be held in place against the tidal flow, while it was being filled. After installation, the 6ft dam was cut into pieces and removed. The 16ft dam stayed in place for 16 months, until a contractor was arranged to repair the levee wall using earth fill material.
