The newly designed lock structure can be applied to other shapes as well. Because not everyone is in love.
So, I tried to apply a newly designed lock structure to the shape of a lock that can be used anywhere and seems to have been excavated from an ancient site.
Although the material of the 3D printed padlock is plastic, the structure of locking and opening is reproduced almost perfectly. However, some modifications were made to make it suitable for 3D printing, but rather, a new structure was created!
The process of making is as follows.
It moves very well if you apply grease, lubricant, or machine oil before connecting the parts.
1. Insert the rotating cylinder-shaped plug by pushing it in the center.
2. Insert the key into the hole of the plug and push it to check operation.
3. Finish by covering the half lock body. When covering the half body, please check the projections and holes carefully.
4. Turn the key again to check operation.
The principle of operation is that when the key is pushed in, the pin is pushed and moved, and the plug can be turned at last. As the plug rotates in this way, the latch is moved so that the shackle can be locked or released to allow movement.
This lock should never be used if you want perfect security. But if you want to do something iconic or just fun locking, it’s a great product.
