Hailstorms pummel northern Italy after days of extreme heat

Videos shared on social media showed hailstorms hitting the regions of Lombardy and Veneto in northern Italy as the country recovers from its third heatwave of the year. The governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, declared a state of emergency on Thursday after more than 110 people were injured by extreme weather.
