M/S of Andre Alhamati, French competitor from Paris, combing hair as another waiter holds mirror. C/U of Alhamati. One waiter pins number on another. M/Ss of competitors pouring glasses of champagne and putting them on trays with the bottles, ready for the start of the race. Waiter removes chewing gum from mouth and puts it on tray to keep a glass in place. L/S of start of race. Various shots of the race in progress as the waiters, dressed in traditional waiter’s dinner jackets, bow ties and white aprons, run around the track, carrying trays with a bottle and glass of champagne on them.
