Ohio Congressman Mike Turner, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is urging the White House for an “immediate“ briefing after reports surfaced suggesting that North Korea has sent troops to support Russia in its war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky raised concerns in Brussels, claiming North Korea is preparing to deploy thousands of soldiers to fight against Ukraine. According to South Korea’s intelligence agency, at least 1,500 North Korean soldiers were reportedly sent to Vladivostok by Russian navy ships this month. These troops have allegedly been provided with Russian military uniforms, weapons, and forged identification documents.
Turner described this escalation as crossing a “red line“ and called for a clear U.S. and NATO stance if North Korean troops actively engage in Ukraine. The Pentagon and NATO have yet to confirm the deployment, but U.S. officials remain concerned about Moscow and Pyongyang’s growing military cooperation
