Alaskan Way Viaduct demolition as seen from above

This time-lapse video captures crews demolishing two spans of the Alaskan Way Viaduct along Seattle’s waterfront over several days in May 2019. Crews first “slot” each deck by hammering out the roadway. Then large machines working from the ground munch the remaining structure into concrete and rebar rubble.
