Israeli troops can be seen standing atop Mount #Hernon, which is the highest point in Syrian Golan (see map, left hand side). Earlier, PM Benjamin Netanyahu announced the IDF’s “temporary“ seizure of the Syrian Golan Heights buffer zone, citing the Separation of Forces Agreement 1974 (between Israel & Syria) as null & void. The nerve of this guy! This agreement lasted 50 years, but now that the Syrian army abandoned its positions, the IDF takes over “to ensure no hostile force embeds itself next to Israel.“ There is nothing more permanent than “temporary“ - especially when it comes to Israel!
