12! Whole spices: 2 bay leaves, 4 green cardamom pods, 4 cloves, 2-inch cinnamon stick, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
13! Biryani masala: 1 tablespoon
14! Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
15! Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
16! Salt to taste
17! Saffron strands soaked in warm milk for garnish (optional)
