EIGHT ARRESTED FOR CONDUCTING CHILD MARRIAGE IN ASSAM’S KARIMGANJ The #Assam #Police arrested 8 people for allegedly officiating a #child marriage in #Karimganj district. The police have also rescued a minor girl, dressed as a bride, from the venue. The incident occurred at the #Kabariband village under #Patharkandi police station in Karimganj. The minor girl has been sent to a shelter home where her statement will be recorded. #Assam aims to eradicate child marriage fromthe state completely by 2026.
