Presenting Fireball XL5 “Prisoner on the Lost Planet“. At Space City, Professor Matic’s latest invention, an ultra-long range neutrony receiver, detects a mysterious distress call from deep space. Someone’s in trouble and the XL5 crew blastoff to the rescue. After traveling to the far reaches of the galaxy, Steve, Matt & Venus discover the signal originates from an uncharted, desolate volcanic planet. The sole inhabitant is the beautiful but maniacal exiled Amazonian Queen. Unwilling to do her bidding, the XL5 crew must survive an erupting volcano controlled by the crazy queen. This is a color animated remake of the UK children’s show Fireball XL5, created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, which featured marionettes. Produced by AP Films and distributed by ITC Entertainment, it appeared on US television from 1963-1965 on NBC. Voices, sound effects and music are from the original TV broadcast.
