This work is most well-known by the titles “Romantika“ and “Романтическая пьеса“. Under these titles, it is misattributed to Vagif Mustafazadeh, whose influence is quite apparent throughout the piece. The misattribution becomes apparent when one discovers that this is the only recording of the piece, with an unusual MIDI flavor. After some research, I discovered that it was most likely composed by jazz pianist Nizami Aliyev, sometime around 2011. The misattribution seems to have first occurred with the most popular reupload of the work ( The dubious transcription used in this video was most likely created after this. The title can be translated as “The Mirror of My Heart“. If you know anything more about this piece, please let me know! I’d like to ensure that everything is correct.
