King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man - Live June 30th 1974 (The Great Deceiver Pt.1)

Full playlist: The 1973/74 touring incarnation of King Crimson is widely celebrated as one of the most dynamic, potent, and thrilling live rock bands in the approximately fifty-year history of rock music. The Great Deceiver, originally released in 1992 as a comprehensive 4CD compilation of select live performances, has established itself as an authoritative documentation of the band’s live prowess. At that time, there existed many unauthorized bootleg recordings of King Crimson’s live concerts which focused on this specific quartet lineup and left an enduring impact on a generation of musicians. However, there was no official record of the band’s live performances. Consequently, the band’s live reputation was situated somewhere between the fortunate concert-goers who had witnessed their performances at the time and a plethora of subpar and even worse copies of these recordings, now being preserved with all their imperfections on discs of questionable origin. The Great Deceiver Vol 1. was Robert Fripp’s answer to this dilemma. Vol. 1 is the first of a two volume release. David Cross: Violin, Mellotron, Electric Piano Robert Fripp: Guitar, Mellotron, Electric Piano John Wetton: Bass Guitar, Vocals Bill Bruford: Drums, Percussion #kingcrimson #robertfripp #progrock #billbruford #johnwetton #davidcross #live
