CME Sessions: Djunah | Live at Chicago Music Exchange

A rising force in the Chicago noise-rock scene since 2018, Djunah’s founding guitarist Donna Diane plays her bare-bones, Kurt Ballou–designed GCI Craftsmen guitar, plus a Moog Minotaur as a bass synth, which she controls using her feet (!!), while singing her soaring, emotionally-charged vocals, alongside Jared Karns, who provides the rhythmic pulse on drums. With three albums of songs already in the can, since the band began, the two-piece unleashed the mythical Moog Minotaur on the Video Room, shaking the foundations of CME’s Lincoln Avenue showroom with a sonic barrage of songs from their upcoming fourth LP, Femina Furens—available for preorder, here! Hear tracks from Djunah’s latest record in this week’s CME Session! Plus, keep watching between songs to see CME’s resident gear guru (and self-appointed pedalboard enthusiast) David A. sit down and talk tone with Chicago’s own Djunah!
