The Shabolovsky Brewery in Moscow was one of the oldest breweries in Russia. Named after the street the factory was located on, “Shabolovka”.
The brewer was founded in 1863 by the Moscow merchants Dmitry Semenovich Karneeva and Vikenty Ivanovich Gorshanovym, who established a trading house of the 1st guild “Korneev, Gorshanov & Co.“
In 1906 the factory made million buckets of beer, employed 387 people and over 10 different kinds of beer, including pilsener, black velvet, porter and ale. By 1914, the brewery had expanded into four buildings.
Following the 1917 Revolution, the factory was nationalised and by 1928 was part of the the Mosselprom company. During the anti-alc
