Following her 2024 singles, including ‘Memories’, ‘The Game’, ‘Close to You’, ‘The Last Dance’ and ‘The Lights’, which garnered tastemaker support for Nicky across the globe via Mixmag, CLASH, Noctis, Wonderland and more, the complete 13 track project is now available on digital and vinyl. Nicky will celebrate the release with an all-night-long show at Amsterdam’s Paradiso on 21 September 2024. The Way of Love offers a shimmering, uplifting sonic exploration of Nicky’s deep musings and reflections. Blending pop melodies and her weightless vocals with deeper electronic sounds—her DJ selections often span melodic house, techno, and electronica—The Way of Love showcases Nicky’s candid lyricism and impressive production skills. Drawing on her deep love of pop and downtempo home listening selections and her club-leaning records, collected over a decade spent DJing around the world, Nicky has carved out a softly euphoric and poignant signature sound, cemented via this divine debut. Nicky dives deep inward on the sentimental album, exploring personal themes around the self and love. From the longing and desire while being away from a loved one on her gorgeous electronica single, “Close To You”, and exploring the art of letting go on “Memories”, the single she describes as a “nostalgic love story”, through to her anthem of empowerment and self belief, “The Lights”, and her story of perception, love and living your truth on breaks-laced club pop, “The Game”, it’s clear that Nicky is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve. Still, at its core, The Way Of Love is a project that embodies Nicky’s journey of self-acceptance as an artist. The debut album offers a candid insight through Nicky’s creative journey, ambitions and desires, told through blissfully emotive and gently euphoric, electronic pop; equally as primed for sun-soaked festival crowds and club floors, as it is for inner world moments created through intimate headphones, home listening, or scenic, long drives. In her own words, “The Way Of Love’ signifies my journey to finding self-love. In writing this album, I’ve experienced many creative and personal obstacles that needed to be overcome to reach the place I am now. I remember when I started writing many years ago, I was obsessed with the idea of being able to fully capture my being in music. I desperately sought after true authenticity to define myself sonically. Now, when I look back on that goal, it seems utterly absurd. This album is a collection of all the different shades and shapes I can take on as a person, and together they partly show you who I am, but never completely, as I am ever-changing.” The album comes after a milestone year for the multifaceted artist, with performances at esteemed venues and festivals worldwide, including an intimate album launch party in London, Anjunadeep Explorations, Awakenings, and Brooklyn Mirage, to name a few.
