Royal Thai Air Force’s “Ferocious Sharks of the Andaman“ arrive for Pitch Black 24 - YouTube

Royal Thai Air Force 701st Fighter Squadron nicknamed the “Ferocious Sharks of the Andaman“ have arrived in Darwin before flying for Exercise Pitch Black gets underway on the 15th of July (2024). Arriving with 5x SAAB JAS-39C/D Gripen fighter jets, they were supported by RTAF C-130H Hercules aircraft fulfilling the logistical support role. The 701st FS are apart of the 7th Wing based at Surat Thani Air Base on the East Coast of Thailand and have supported past iterations of the exercise with the JAS-39 on three separate occasions.
