Hayasaka Yoshifumi 早坂 義文, naga kama.

Hayasaka Yoshifumi 早坂 義文, performing naga (long) kama. He was a direct student of Matayoshi Shinpo, a privileged one even, as Matayoshi had chosen him in some instances over the regular students, to pass his teachings to the others. Choosing him might have been a simple pedagogical method to force him to memorize and acquire the material better as the student would be away from the kodokan many months in between his visits from the mainland. However, the general understanding is that, a fine connoisseur of characters as he was, Matayoshi had recognized the value of this mainland University student, and placed part of his knowledge within his hands, in the intimacy of the Matayoshi’s family appartment, upstairs from the kodokan.
