Carnivalitas (1920-1929)

Titles read: ’“Carnivalitas“ - Film taken exclusively for W Hy Broadhead & Son, of the Broadhead Theatres. Carnival Week Programme included all the fun of the Fair!’ Location of events unknown - could be Blackpool, Lancashire. Group of people in all sorts of costumes: comedie dell’arte characters; old military uniforms; man in drag (?) as a Queen w/ crown, etc. Man dressed as a jester making silly faces. CUs some of the actors (?) kissing each other. Next; the group riding on merry-go-round or carousel (old-fashioned; w/ stationary horses). Closer carousel turning; people acting silly. MS group pose at carousel. CU hearty old man laughing. Grandiose Winter Gardens building w/ long covered walkway (could be Blackpool?); signs: Varieties & Revues; etc. The costumed gang arrive piled on top of horse-drawn stagecoach. Shot looking down at crowd parted to let entertainers through; then crowd swarms after, tipping hats and smiling at camera. Women’s acrobat group in various poses in a park or garden;
