Do you believe in ghosts? In this episode the cleaners head to Poundisford Lodge, a 16th Century manor in Somerset, home to Josephine, 83, an acclaimed writer of ghost stories. A mother of six, Josephine moved in, in 1974, with her late husband Vincent who inherited it from a long line of heirs. Together they set about restoring the dilapidated house room by room, but Vincent died seven years ago, before they managed to finish the project. Nowadays, Josephine lives in the house, alone with her memories – and 350 years’ worth of family history. With no money coming in to pay for the upkeep, the plan is to offer private dinner parties for paying guests in the once-glorious drawing room.
