Loose watercolour demonstration depicting autumn Cow Parsley by Adrian Homersham Details of brushes and equipment used in this demonstration are detailed below: Hake Brush This is a goat haired brush that has been used for centuries in both China and Japan. It is very versatile and can be used to apply large washes of pigment and to create loose textured areas; a great for loose wet into wet watercolours. The ones I use are Pro Arte Ron Ranson branded brushes. I find these shed hairs far less than cheaper alternatives.
