Some of these shorts were used as interstitials in early television, when live shows might not be long enough to cover an hour. The show relied on amusing stock footage clips and Hawthorne’s patented droll, gag-laced, dry narration. This one shows footage from a silent film comedy or vaudeville act of a sausage factory, a segment with an old woman who rings bells at a German or Swiss cathedral, who is fed by a basket of food sent up to the tower by rope. At (1:48), an aircraft windvane is shown at a WWI era airfield. At (2:22), a large house is moved across a lake or river by tug boats.
